Take a look through the current galleries to get a feel for the kind of piece we accept in this group! We have had to decline a lot of submissions that don't adhere to the kind of thing we want to showcase here, and we don't like declining pieces because we appreciate it can be down-heartening to the artist.
To clarify, Vintagenic aims to display works that have that dreamy "vintage" feel - mainly pretty and colourful works that represent the fashions, objects and seasons from past eras in an aesthetic way, or which aim to replicate the style of photograph taken at those times. We have been receiving a lot of works that lack this certain feel - many are too dark or don't have a "vintage" feel at all. Simply making something sepia or black-and-white, even though we appreciate this aims for a "timeless" feel, doesn't always capture this atmosphere! There are lots of other great groups which showcase black-and-white or sepia pictures, but here we would rather keep things colourful.
If your piece is declined please don't be put off - we want to showcase your best works, so take a moment to look around our galleries to gain inspiration. If this "dreamy" style of vintage doesn't suit you, that's fine; there are lots of other vintage groups out there!
